Simple Strip Quilt Class with Kristene

Skill level: Beginner/Intermediate - This class assumes you have a working knowledge of your sewing machine and have previously made some type of easy/simple quilt.

Maximum enrollment: 10

Learn how to piece a simple strip quilt top of a smaller size (39" x43"). This quilt is  big enough for a lap quilt but small enough for easier quilting.  The design is a striking diagonal using a light, medium, and dark fabric along with a colorful border.  

The beginning quilter will learn about color selection (light, medium, and dark) and how that translates into the visual aspects of the quilt along with basic techniques for construction of strip quilts.  This quilt has some seams to match and we will discuss proper ironing and construction techniques to align the seams. We will review rotary cutting techniques when we cut the fabric strips and then create the squares.

Note: This class will cover creating the quilt top itself. You will sandwich, quilt, and bind the quilt outside of the classtime.
