Pick a Petal Template / Block of the Month

Join Owner Julianne Walther for the Pick a Petal 6 month Block / Template of the Month program! This quilt may be hand-pieced or machine-pieced and uses plastic templates to cut the unique shapes for the blocks.

• Finished quilt measures 72" square.
• As a participant in this program you will receive:
  • 12 yards of Jen Kingwell fabric by Moda for quilt top
  • Acrylic templates for the Pick a Petal quilt
  • Pick a Petal quilt pattern
  • 2 yards of assorted fabrics from Cary Quilting Company
  • Monthly videos from designer Jen Kingwell with tips & tricks relevant to that months blocks
    
  • FREE access to Jen's piecing and appliqué online classes for 12 months
  • Access to a Private Facebook Group moderated by Jen Kingwell Designs. This is a space for the Pick a Petal community to share their progress, help troubleshoot problems, discuss their own methods of sewing the blocks, and connect with like-minded people.
• This program will run for 6 consecutive months starting in Summer 2025.

Read designer Jen Kingwell's inspiration for this quilt: "I think Spring is my favorite season. After the grey days of winter, I get excited for the crisp mornings that shimmer with sunlight & hint at the warmth of Summer fast approaching. My garden begins to explode with vibrant colors and as I watch the butterflies and bees dance among the blooms, I can't help but feel my heart stir with joy and hope. When designing Pick a Petal I knew I wanted to capture the essence of Spring by weaving together the beauty and color that this season brings to my world. Using a mix of hand piecing, needle-turn appliqué and a range of stitch techniques I began my journey to create Pick a Petal. I love the way combining these techniques creates layers of detail and interest to a project. I embellished the appliqué borders with butterflies, flowers, and fruits to further evoke the spirit of Spring. The inspiration from Spring extended beyond the quilt, sparking the creation of my new fabric ranges with Moda (being released May/June 2025). I’ve recolored these fabrics to perfectly complement the playful and whimsical feel of this design. I’m known as a scrap quilter and so I knew I wanted my ‘Mixed Bag’ ranges to reflect this: The color palette is bright and fun mixing a range of prints.
